Do remember to look back at the view of the village and the surrounding countryside.

Walk through the woods towards the North along the path on the top of hill until you get to a high-voltage electricity line (approx. 1 hour)

Turn right towards the East and follow the electricity line for about 300 m.

Turn left towards Nouville and continue for about 20 mins.

Once at Nouville, cross the main road into the other part of the hamlet, cross the bridge over the Grison river and walk up to ’Le Voisinet’ (approx. 10 mins)

Take the path through the vineyards up to the ’Mont St. Romain’ (approx 1 hour) where you will find a panoramic table to help you get your bearings and from where there is magnificent view over the countryside.

Begin your walk back on the tarred road for about 200 m.

Turn right onto the path on the top of the hill and follow the sign ’Bar des Grottes’. Continue on the path which passes in front of ’La Mangette’ (now in ruins) approx. 15 mins.

Turn left on the path signposted ’Grotttes’ which is about 30m below the entrance to the caves.

Here you have the possibility of a guided tour of the caves (appox. 1 hour) or a refreshing drink on the terrace.

Leave the ’Grottes’ through the car park and, at the end, follow the ’rue aux loups’ to the hamlet of Fougnières.

Just below the last garden in the village, take the ’chemin du Mazelet’ which will bring you back into the centre of Blanot.

This is a 5 – 6 hour ramble and you will find details of other rambles at the Mairie or at the local restaurants.

There are blue signposts along most of the walks to help you find your way.
